The Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles is one of the Directorates set up by the Government of Manipur under the administrative Department of Textiles, Commerce & Industry, Govt. of Manipur. The Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles was formally inaugurated on 30-12-2017 and Manipur Gazette Notification was issued on 02-01-2017. The Office is located at the Directorate Complex of the Department at Lamphelpat, Imphal West. The Department implemented a large number of development project to facilitate handloom weavers, textile workers, handicrafts artisans to meet the challenges of a globalize environment under Government Sponsored Schemes.
