The Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles is one of the Directorates set up by the Government of Manipur under the administrative Department of Textiles, Commerce & Industry, Govt. of Manipur. The Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles was formally inaugurated on 30-12-2017 and Manipur Gazette Notification was issued on 02-01-2017. The Office is located at the Directorate Complex of the Department at Lamphelpat, Imphal West. The Department implemented a large number of development project to facilitate handloom weavers, textile workers, handicrafts artisans to meet the challenges of a globalize environment under Government Sponsored Schemes. In order to ensure that the projects are implemented properly within the allotted time, it is necessary to monitor them regularly. Further, it is necessary to update the activities and performances of the Handlooms & Textiles from time to time for various purposes. In the beginning, monitoring and evaluation was done manually which faces a lot of difficulties and hence, a new Monitoring System was launched in 2015 with an objective to remove the hindrances faced in the processes.
