Textile industry meets one of the basic needs of life and has therefore been one of the first industries to develop worldwide. Taking employment generation by handloom industry in Manipur into account, the State Government introduced an export oriented business plan particularly for active and premier private entrepreneurs iof Manipur. Major thrust areas are to create a common platform for handloom weavers in respect of availability of the services of Designers in both the production and textile designer production strategy through selective skilled handloom weavers for maintaining quality to promote the exports of handloom products brand building of handloom products for establishing a strong brand image in India and abroad and Exposures in national and international fairs, events, expos.
